Each session is customized to your unique needs—no two sessions are ever the same.

Modalities Emily practices:

30-minute sessions for affordable and effective stress relief.

Rest fully clothed while seated on on specialized massage chair. You may choose to lean forward, resting your chest on the padded support and your face in the cushioned rest, or sit upright as you would in a standard chair—whichever position provides greater comfort. Relaxation focused session.

Best areas for chair massage:

table sessions

Sessions to address focus areas and/or provide full body relaxation.

Rest on a traditional massage table. Depending on therapy goals and preference, you may be fully clothed or undressed while covered modestly with a sheet and blanket. A table warmer is optional for added comfort.

Choose a session length based on reason for your session:

  • 45-minute sessions address one need, such as tension relief in the jaw or general stress relief.

  • 60 and 75-minute sessions address one to two focus areas or attends to overall comfort and relaxation.

  • 90-minute session accommodates full body attention with or without a focus area.

Depending on your goals, Emily may lead you through stretches or strengthening techniques during your session. These come from yoga, Thai massage, and sports massage. Activity in your session helps you better understand your body, which can create new muscle habits, reduce pain, and bring lasting relief. She may also provide suggestions for movements for you to do at home.

Deep tissue massage: Emily does not offer “deep tissue” massage. Overly assertive manipulation of muscle and fascia can cause injury and provide only momentary relief. Emily applies gentle to firm pressure to ensure long-lasting results. While deeper tissues may be engaged, pain and discomfort are avoided. Assessments and adjustments are made throughout each session to ensure Emily’s work is effective and safe.
