is e. ruth right for you?

Before scheduling, Emily is happy to discuss your therapy goals, your needs or any questions you may have about what massage therapy at E. Ruth can provide. Please reach out to Emily by phone or email.

what to expect at your first session:

Each session includes an additional 15 minutes to accommodate the intake & wrap up process.

Before your first session, you will be asked to complete, review and agree to the documents below via E. Ruth’s client management software:

  • a current health and health history form

  • notification of privacy policies and

  • agreement to general office policies

Before each session, you will be asked to discuss your therapy goals and any changes your health. This helps Emily plan your customized session- no two sessions are alike.

During your massage, feedback in encouraged. Emily will modify your massage plan if needed or requested.

Following your massage, Emily will ask for feedback about your experience and you may be given selfcare tips to promote ongoing comfort in your daily life.

clothing

Most sessions at E. Ruth can be performed with the client undressed and modestly covered or fully clothed. Fully clothed table or chair sessions require clothing that you can easily move in, similar to going to the gym or to a yoga class. 

Intraoral sessions often involve massage of the neck, shoulders, upper chest and back. It is optional for clients to remove shirt and/or bra. If you decided to do so, you will be covered modestly with a sheet and blanket. Table warmer optional for added warmth.

no pain

Massage therapy should never be painful. 

Certain treatment techniques may initially, but briefly, produce pain in order for Emily to establish a baseline and to check for symptoms of potential underlying conditions.

Your trust and comfort is of the utmost importance. Emily will work with you to ensure each session in never painful and always effective.

Pricing is all-inclusive, no matter the modality. Tips are not accepted—your continued support by scheduling future sessions or referring others is greatly appreciated.

Payment is due in full at the time of your session. Emily accepts exact cash or major credit/debit cards (including FSA and HSA cards).

E. Ruth does not bill insurance directly, but itemized receipts for reimbursement are available upon request.

parking & transit

E. Ruth is located amongst other practitioners in the small professional building on the corner of 56th avenue and 234th street. A small parking lot is accessible on 234th street. Street parking is also available.

A Community Transit bus stop is nearby, served by routes 119 and 130, and the Mountlake Terrace light rail station is just a few blocks away.
